A new media partnership between the Middle East Council of Churches and Hubo ("Love") magazine, published by the Syriac Orthodox Church of Our Lady Mary in Cairo, began with a personal essay by Secretary General Michel Abs entitled "My Story with the Syriacs (Part 1)," in issue 26, February 2026 (third year). In this first installment, the Secretary General recounts part of his personal and historical relationship with the Syriac community and its church — a rare autobiographical piece offering a window into his roots and spiritual formation.
